Police Constable Stoned to Death in Boudh, Neighbour Held

Boudh: A shocking murder has come to light in Balisahi village of Boudh district, where a police constable was allegedly stoned to death by his neighbour over an old rivalry. The victim, Uday Ranjan Patnaik, was serving at Baluguda police station in Phulbani district.

According to police, the accused, Sanjay Naik, allegedly killed Uday four days ago and buried the body in a garbage dump behind his house. Sanjay reportedly threatened Uday’s son to stay quiet, but the crime surfaced after the body began decomposing.

The body has been recovered and sent for post-mortem, while Sanjay has been detained for interrogation. A scientific team and dog squad have been deployed to assist in the investigation.

Boudh SDPO Lawrence Routray stated that the exact motive will be confirmed after a detailed probe.
