Police Constable Dies on Duty During Protest in Sonepur’s Ulunda

Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, a police constable died while on duty at Ulunda in Odisha’s Sonepur district on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Saroj Pradhan, who was reportedly just four years away from retirement.

According to reports, Pradhan was part of a police team deployed to maintain law and order during a protest by SC/ST groups. The protesters were demonstrating against the government and district administration when the incident occurred.

While recording the protest, Pradhan suddenly collapsed on the spot. He was immediately rushed to the Ulunda Community Health Centre, where doctors declared him brought dead.

The incident has left his colleagues and the local community in deep shock. Fellow officers remembered Pradhan as a dedicated and disciplined officer who served the police department with sincerity throughout his career.
