PM Modi Reviews ₹16,000 Crore Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed infrastructure projects worth more than ₹16,000 crore during the 54th PRAGATI meeting held at Seva Teerth in New Delhi. The projects span 31 States and Union Territories and cover railway infrastructure, PM Ekta Malls and Bulk Drug Parks.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister directed Central Ministries and State Governments to remove implementation hurdles, improve coordination and ensure that projects are completed within their stipulated timelines. He also called for stronger monitoring by senior officials and clear accountability at every level.

Modi asked Chief Secretaries to conduct monthly reviews of government schemes with District Magistrates to identify gaps and ensure that welfare benefits reach eligible people without delay. He stressed that the success of governance should be measured by its impact on citizens rather than merely by the amount of money spent.

Emphasising the importance of PM Ekta Malls, the Prime Minister said these facilities should promote locally made products, support artisans and create better opportunities for small businesses. He also called for timely completion of the proposed malls.

Reviewing Bulk Drug Parks in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, Modi highlighted the need to increase domestic production of active pharmaceutical ingredients and other essential materials to strengthen India’s self-reliance in the pharmaceutical sector.

The Prime Minister also underscored the importance of better coordination, continuous monitoring and local-level accountability under the Aspirational Districts and Aspirational Blocks programmes. He noted that sustained development and improved welfare delivery had helped nearly 25 crore people move out of multidimensional poverty.

On railway infrastructure, Modi reviewed the redevelopment of Ahmedabad railway station and urged officials to accelerate the modernisation of major stations across the country. He said upgraded stations should function as integrated transport hubs, offering smooth connectivity with metro services and other modes of transport to improve passenger convenience.
