Passengers can now book Ama bus tickets on WhatsApp

Bhubaneswar: Good news for Ama bus passengers as the now they can book tickets on WhatsApp. The Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) informed about the news.

Keeping in mind the high usage of WhatsApp, a ticket booking system have been designed for ‘Ama Bus’ on WhatsApp.

The Chief Minister will launch this service today on Local Self Government Day. It may also be announced that passengers who book tickets on WhatsApp and Ama Bus (Mo Bus earlier) will get a discount on the ticket price.

As of now there are digital passes for the people traveling on Ama Bus in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Puri. The Government is mulling to extend these digital passes to other cities very soon.

Most people are traveling in these Ama Buses running in different cities. People are dependent on Ama Buses (Mo Bus) because they travel smoothly at low cost. Therefore, the government is going to start such a service keeping in mind the convenience of the people.

Recently in April, 2025, Housing & Urban Development Department and Public Enterprises Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra flagged off 40 new ‘Ama Busses’ from the Gadakana bus Depot.

With the addition of 40 more Ama Buses, the frequency of bus services will increase on key routes, including 20, 21, 24/24E, 27, 32, 33, 37, 38, 40, 41, 43, 44, 47, 64 and 82. Consequently, the Ama Bus service schedule will be revised from April 4, 2025, with modifications to certain routes.
