P.K Mishra takes charge as Principal Secy to PM

(Reporters Today): Odia bureaucrat Pramod Kumar Mishra today took charge as the Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. Earlier he was serving as the Additional Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister. He served as Principal Secretary to Modi between 2001 and 2004 during the latter’s tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat. He also served as Secretary in the Union Ministry of Agriculture from December 2006 to August 2008 under Sharad Pawar. Later, he was credited with the implementation of the National Agriculture Development Programme and the National Food Security Mission.
During his tenure in the Ministry of Agriculture, the production of food grains reached record levels and there was an increase in the agricultural GDP.
