OPS Reshuffle: Odisha Transfers 12 Senior Police Officers

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Thursday announced a major reshuffle in the OPS cadre, transferring and posting 12 officers across various senior positions. A notification to this effect was issued by the Home Department.

As per the order, Bimalendu Satapathy, OPS (SAG), DCP, Police Commissionerate, has been appointed SP, State Police Headquarters, Cuttack. Kishore Chandra Mund, OPS (S), presently in-situ Addl. DCP, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack, has been posted as DCP, Police Commissionerate, while Anup Kumar Kanungo, OPS (S), also serving as in-situ Addl. DCP, has been assigned the same position.

In other postings, Srikanta Kumar Behera, OPS (S), in-situ Addl. SP, State Police Headquarters, Cuttack, has been appointed SP, Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Bhubaneswar, and Surendra Nath Rayaguru, OPS (S), in-situ Addl. SP, Talcher, has been transferred as SP, State Police Headquarters, Cuttack.

Anand Bardhan Guru, OPS (S), in-situ Addl. SP, Kalahandi, has also been posted to SP, State Police Headquarters, Cuttack, while Tapan Narayan Rath, OPS (S), Addl. SP, State Police Headquarters, will now serve as AIG of Police, SP Headquarters, Cuttack.

Further, Satyaban Mohananda, OPS (S), Addl. SP, Vigilance, has been promoted as SP, Vigilance; Debashis Dhal, OPS (S), Addl. SP, IUCAW Kendrapara, has been posted as SP, Special Branch; and Prava Sankar Nayak, OPS (S), Addl. SP, State Police Headquarters, has been appointed AIG of Police, SP Headquarters, Cuttack.

The notification also mentioned that Debadutta Kar, OPS (S), in-situ Addl. DCP, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack, will serve as SP, State Police Headquarters, Cuttack, while Satyajit Mishra, OPS (S), in-situ Addl. SP, Railways, has been posted as AIG of Police, Marine & Coastal Security.

The Home Department directed the Director General of Police to intimate the actual date of joining of the transferred officers. The notification has also been forwarded for publication in the next issue of the Odisha Gazette.
