One killed, three injured in Patnagarh attack over rejected marriage proposal

Patnagarh: In a shocking incident, a man was murdered and three other family members sustained grievous injuries after a violent attack following the alleged rejection of a marriage proposal in Odisha’s Bolangir district.

The attack occurred in the Mallikmunda village under the limits of Patnagarh police station.

Preliminary reports indicate that the offensive took place following a family’s denial of their daughter for marriage.

The man who died has been identified as the girl’s paternal uncle by relation (mausa).

Another three members of the same family have received severe wounds in the attack, following which they have been transferred to a hospital.

The culprit, at present, is evading arrest.

A manhunt has been launched by the police, and investigation into the case has commenced.
