One dead, 7 injured as bus falls into Alaknanda River

Uttarakhand: An 18-seater bus plunged into the Alaknanda River in Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag district on Thursday. One person died and seven others were injured as the bus fell into Alakanada river.

According to the reports, only seven people have been rescued so far. Rescue teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), local police and the district administration are carrying out search and rescue operations.

Traffic on the Badrinath highway has been partially affected and the area has been sealed off to aid in the rescue work.

Authorities are currently continuing to search for the missing passengers.
