One Burnt Alive, Another Critical After Bike Catches Fire In Angul Hit-And-Run

Bhubaneswar: A tragic road accident on National Highway 149 near Burukuna Chhak under Samal Police Station limits in Odisha’s Angul district claimed one life and left another person critically injured late on Thursday night.

According to reports, the accident took place near Samakoi Bridge when an unidentified vehicle allegedly rammed into a motorcycle carrying two persons. The impact of the collision caused the bike to catch fire instantly.

One of the riders got trapped in the flames and was burnt alive on the spot. The motorcycle was completely gutted in the fire before locals and emergency responders could control the blaze.

The other injured person somehow managed to escape but sustained severe burn and injury marks. He was first taken to Khamar Community Health Centre for treatment and later shifted to Angul District Headquarters Hospital after his condition deteriorated.

Police from Samal Police Station reached the accident site soon after receiving information and began an investigation into the hit-and-run case. The identity of the deceased has not yet been established.

Further investigation is underway to trace the unidentified vehicle involved in the accident.
