OMC Launches ‘LeaDHer 2025’ to Strengthen Women’s Leadership in Workforce

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) on Monday inaugurated ‘LeaDHer 2025’, a leadership development programme rooted in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) principles, at its Head Office in Bhubaneswar.

The programme brought together around 137 women employees from across OMC with the objective of enhancing leadership skills, fostering inclusivity, and preparing women professionals to take on greater responsibilities within the organisation.

The inaugural session was attended by Director (HR) Alok Kumar Pal, Executive Director (P&A) Talat Afreen (SAG), and General Manager (Personnel) Malay Ranjan Kar, who praised the initiative and urged participants to use the learnings for both personal growth and organisational excellence.

Launched in 2024 as a wellness-focused initiative under OMC’s Women Wellness & DEI framework, LeaDHer has been expanded in its 2025 edition to focus on structured leadership learning and development. Officials described the shift as a significant milestone in OMC’s ongoing commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

The one-day intensive programme featured expert-led workshops, peer learning sessions, and interactive discussions covering key leadership areas such as executive presence, influence without authority, strategic communication, decision-making in complex environments, resilience, emotional intelligence, and team empowerment.

By scaling up LeaDHer into a comprehensive leadership platform, OMC has reaffirmed its vision of building a progressive, future-ready workplace where women can thrive and lead with confidence. Similar sessions are scheduled to be held across OMC’s mining regions under the DEI initiative to ensure wider impact at all operational levels.
