Ollywood actor-comedian Salil Mitra passes away

Surjit Kumar Dhal,Bhubaneswar, June 4: Popular Ollywood actor-comedian Salil Mitra, injured in a serious road accident on May 12, passed away here late night awhile undergoing treatment at a private hospital here.

Mitra was critically injured in a road mishap near Ghatagaon College square in Keonjhar district. He was initially rushed to Cuttack SCB and later shifted to the private hospital where he breathed his last.

According to family sources, Salil had suffered a broken rib during the car accident which severely injured his heart.

His spinal cord was also injured during the mishap due to which he was almost under paralytic attack, they said.

The body is being taken to his native village in Karanjia of Mayurbhanj district.

Notably, Mitra got his big break in Odia film industry with super hit ‘Pua Bhangi Dela Suna Sansar’ movie in 1999.

He also acted in several successful box office movies like ‘Sasti’, ‘Love Station’, ‘Love Pain Kuch Bhi Karega’, ‘Mahanayak’, ‘Gapa Hele Bi Sata’, ‘Sister Sridevi’.

The Ollywood film fraternity poured condolences over the sad demise of Salil.
