Odisha’s railway development will get a big boost: Pradhan on Rail budget
New Delhi: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Union Railway Minister Ashwani Baishnab for providing a record amount of Rs 10,599 crore in the railway sector to Odisha in the first full budget of the third term of the Modi government for the financial year 2025-26.
Pradhan said that the Modi government has given priority to Odisha in the Developed India Budget and has emphasized on strengthening the railway infrastructure.
“In the last five years of the previous Congress government, an average of Rs 838 crore was given to the state annually. But the grant given to the railway sector in the current railway budget of the Modi government has increased by about 12.5 times compared to the Congress government,” he said.
He said that this record amount of railway grant in the Purvoday Mission will further strengthen the railway infrastructure in Odisha and make passenger facilities more convenient.
