Odisha Vigilance nabs forest staffer of Keonjhar

Keonjhar: The Odisha Vigilance nabbed a staff member of the Deputy Conservator of Forest of Nicolson forest training school in Chamua of Keonjhar district. The employee was caught red-handed while taking bribe of Rs 30,000 from a retired employee for preparing his final pension papers.
The Odisha Vigilance nabbed Rupchand Nayak, Jr.Asst. O/o DCF (Dy. Conservator of Forests), Nicolson Forest Training School, Chamua, Dist. Keonjhar, has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking bribe of Rs.30,000/- from a retired employee of the said Forest Training School (Complainant) for preparing his final pension papers and arrear salary bill following his voluntary retirement in the year 2024.
Since his retirement, the complainant had been requesting accused Nayak for the above work. But, accused Nayak demanded bribe Rs.30,000/- to make his pension papers ready.
Being aggrieved over a years’ delay, the complainant reported the matter to the vigilance authorities narrating his harassment. Following this, a team of Odisha Vigilance nabbed Nayak, Junior Assistant today, while taking bribe Rs 30,000/- from the complainant.The entire bribe money Rs.30,000/- has been recovered from possession of accused Nayak and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Nayak, Junior Assistant from disproportionate assets angle.
In this connection, Balasaore Vigilance PS Case No 09/2025, U/s-7PC Amendment Act 2018 has been registered against accused Nayak, Junior Assistant.
