Odisha Vigilance Books Cuttack Hospital Official in ₹1.24 Crore Misappropriation Case

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance has filed a fresh case against Kishore Kumar Sahani, Senior Assistant at City Hospital, Cuttack, under the office of the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO), for alleged large-scale financial irregularities.
Sahani is accused of misappropriating government funds amounting to ₹1,24,15,854 during his tenure at the hospital. A case (Vigilance PS Case No. 24/21.08.2025) has been registered under Sections 13(2) read with 13(1)(c) of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. He has been remanded to judicial custody till September 16, 2025.
This comes shortly after his arrest on August 23, 2025, when Vigilance officials booked him for amassing disproportionate assets valued at 201% of his known sources of income. Failing to provide a satisfactory explanation, Sahani and his spouse were charge-sheeted, and he was forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack.
