Odisha Vigilance Arrests Sundargarh Official Over Disproportionate Assets

Odisha Vigilance on Saturday arrested Prasanna Kumar Patra, Deputy Director of Soil Conservation-cum-Project Director, Watershed, Sundargarh, in a disproportionate assets case.
He will be produced before the Special Judge, Vigilance, Sundargarh, later in the day.
During simultaneous searches at properties linked to Patra, Vigilance officials reportedly unearthed four multi-storey buildings, a luxury flat and seven plots in Bhubaneswar, along with bank deposits and investments worth Rs 1.46 crore.
The searches also led to the seizure of 212 grams of gold ornaments and Rs 1.29 lakh in cash. According to Vigilance, Patra failed to satisfactorily explain the source of the assets.
A case (No. 13/2026) has been registered at Rourkela Vigilance Police Station under the Prevention of Corruption Act. Further investigation into his financial transactions and property holdings is underway.
