Odisha Ready to Tackle Crisis, Ensure Supply Stability: CM Mohan Majhi

Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday reaffirmed that Odisha is fully prepared to manage any emerging challenges arising from the ongoing global crisis, following a high-level meeting chaired by Narendra Modi.


The Chief Minister assured citizens that the state government is taking proactive steps to ensure uninterrupted availability of essential commodities and maintain overall market stability.

Focus on Supply Stability and Public Welfare

Speaking after the virtual meeting, Majhi emphasised that Odisha is equipped to handle disruptions linked to the West Asia situation. He stated that authorities are closely monitoring supply chains to prevent shortages and ensure smooth distribution of critical goods.

The state has also announced strict action against hoarding and black marketing to safeguard consumer interests during this period of uncertainty.

Appeal for Calm and Responsible Behaviour

Highlighting the importance of public cooperation, Majhi urged citizens to remain calm and avoid panic buying. He stressed that spreading misinformation could lead to unnecessary disruptions and called for responsible sharing of verified information.

Efforts are being intensified to ensure accurate updates reach every section of society, reinforcing transparency and trust.

Support for Centre’s Fuel Duty Reduction

The Chief Minister welcomed the Union government’s recent decision to reduce excise duty on petrol and diesel, calling it a timely and citizen-focused move. He noted that the step would help cushion households from global price volatility and support economic stability.

Coordinated National Response

Majhi expressed confidence in India’s ability to navigate global challenges under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. He highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts between the Centre and states in addressing crisis situations effectively.

The meeting was also attended by senior leaders including Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh, along with other state representatives, focusing on strategies to mitigate the impact of the ongoing West Asia conflict.
