Odisha Police Teams Shine at All India Football Championship

Odisha Police men’s and women’s football teams achieved remarkable success at the 74th B.N. Mullik All India Police Football Championship held in Hyderabad.


Celebration at Police Headquarters

The teams met Director General of Police Shri Yogesh Bahadur Khurania at the State Police Headquarters after returning to Odisha. The DGP congratulated the players for their outstanding performance and praised their dedication and sporting excellence.

Championship Highlights

The women’s team finished as runners-up after a tough final against Assam Rifles, while the men’s team secured fourth place. Two players brought special glory to Odisha Police by winning the Golden Boot awards — Pyari Khaka (WC/475, UPD Bhubaneswar) scored seven goals in the women’s category, and Bijay Behera (C/327, 1st IR Battalion, Koraput) scored eight goals in the men’s category.

DGP’s Remarks

Shri Khurania said the achievement would inspire Odisha’s youth to pursue football and set new milestones. He described the players’ success as a matter of pride for the entire police force.

Event Attendance

Senior officers, including ADG (Modernisation) Shri Soumendra Kumar Priyadarshi and ADG (Law & Order) Shri Sanjay Kumar, attended the felicitation ceremony. Sports Officer Neelamadhab Swain coordinated the event.
