Odisha Pencak Silat Teams Win Gold and Bronze at Khelo India Beach Games 2026

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has congratulated the state’s Pencak Silat teams for their commendable performance at the 2nd Khelo India Beach Games 2026 held in Diu. The Women’s Regu Team clinched a gold medal, while the Men’s Regu Team secured a bronze, bringing laurels to the state.
In a congratulatory message, the Chief Minister lauded the athletes for their dedication, discipline and hard work, noting that their success reflects Odisha’s rapidly growing sporting ecosystem. He extended his best wishes to the players for continued success and greater achievements in the future.

In a separate post on his X handle, CM Majhi also congratulated young archery players Rohit Kumar Marandi and Reshma Mallick for their historic performance at the 69th SGFI National School Games in Ranchi. The duo won a total of four gold medals, including three by Rohit Kumar Marandi and one by Reshma Mallick in the mixed team event, making the state proud.
The Khelo India Beach Games 2026 witnessed participation from over 1,100 athletes competing across eight sports disciplines, offering a major platform for young talents from across the country. Odisha’s strong showing, particularly in Pencak Silat, is expected to inspire many aspiring athletes in the state.
