Odisha Mourns Humane Sagar’s Death; CM Majhi Says State Has Lost a “Priceless Voice”

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday condoled the passing of noted Ollywood playback singer Humane Sagar, describing his death as a “priceless and irreparable loss” to Odisha’s cultural landscape.

In a post on X, the Chief Minister wrote, “I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of the legendary singer Humane Sagar. His demise is an irreparable loss to our music and film industry. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul. Om Shanti.”

The 34-year-old singer breathed his last on Monday evening while receiving treatment in the Medicine ICU at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar. His sudden demise has sent shockwaves through the Odia entertainment world, with fans and fellow artistes expressing heartfelt grief.

Hospital authorities confirmed that Sagar had been battling critical health complications, including multi-organ dysfunction syndrome, acute-on-chronic liver failure, bilateral pneumonia, and dilated cardiomyopathy with severe LV systolic dysfunction.

Humane Sagar became a household name with the title track of the Odia film Ishq Tu Hi Tu. Over the years, he lent his powerful voice to hundreds of Odia film songs and also ventured into Hindi music with his album Mera Yeh Jahan. His memorable contributions to popular music albums like Tuma Otha Tale, Niswasa, Bekhudee, and Chehera (2017) earned him immense admiration across the state.

As tributes continue to pour in, the Odia music industry is united in grief, remembering the young singer whose voice touched millions and whose absence leaves a lasting void.
