Odisha Lockdown Extended Till July 16; More Relaxation Imposed

 

Bhubaneswar (Reporters Today Bureau): The Odisha government today announced to extend the partial lockdown till 6 am of July 16.

In a view of the ongoing second wave, the Government had imposed several relaxations in order to control the spike in COVID-19

The government had tagged 20 districts under Category A and 10 districts under Category B.

Under category A, districts are Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Kalahandi, Balangir, Nuapada, Sonepur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Boudh, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri and Rayagada.

Under A category where the Test Positivity Ratio (TPR) is less than 5% buses, taxis and auto-rickshaws are allowed to operate However, drivers must be vaccinated and strict Covid protocols need to be followed.

All the shops have been permitted to open from 6 AM to 6 PM.

No weekend shutdown these districts.

Outdoor film shooting and small salons will be permitted. Daily markets & weekly haats are also allowed in these districts.

Under B category, the coastal districts are Nayagarh, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Puri, Khordha, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Mayurbhanj.

Shops will be allowed to open from 6 AM to 2 PM.

The weekend shutdown will continue in these districts.

Bus services have not been permitted in the districts. Salons will also be allowed to open in Category-B districts.

Night curfew will continue across the state from 6 PM to 6 AM.

The restrictions on weddings and funerals will continue as before across the state and education and religious institutions will remain closed.
