Odisha HSC Matric Exams 2026 Conclude Smoothly; Results Likely by Early May

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha High School Certificate (HSC) Examination 2026, popularly known as the matric examination, concluded smoothly on Monday, March 2, officials said.

Conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, the examinations began on February 19 and were held at 3,082 centres across the state under strict monitoring arrangements.

BSE President Srikant Tarai said no cases of malpractice or violation of examination norms were reported from any part of the state. “Barring some trivial issues in certain centres, the examinations concluded smoothly,” he stated.

To ensure transparency and fairness, all centres were monitored live through a central command control room. The Board also introduced enhanced security measures this year, including AI-integrated monitoring systems, QR codes and watermarks on question papers to prevent irregularities.

The evaluation process has already commenced, with assessment of objective OMR sheets currently underway. Evaluation of subjective answer papers is scheduled to begin from March 19. Nearly 14,000 to 15,000 teachers will be engaged in the process at 51 evaluation centres across Odisha.

Officials said that if the evaluation proceeds without disruption, the results are likely to be announced in the first or second week of May 2026.

In a student-friendly initiative, the Board is planning to make digital certificates and marksheets available online for easier access. The BSE has assured that all necessary precautions are being taken to ensure an error-free evaluation process while maintaining accuracy and integrity.

With advanced technological safeguards and tight supervision, this year’s HSC examinations were conducted without major incidents, marking a smooth and secure academic exercise across the state.
