Odisha Govt Promises Unmatched Services for Kotia Residents: Minister Suresh Pujari

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government will soon provide services and benefits to Kotia residents that will surpass anything offered by Andhra Pradesh, said Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari while addressing the ongoing Kotia border dispute.
Speaking to reporters, Pujari stated that the state is in constant touch with the Centre over the matter, which he termed as one with a humanitarian dimension. He acknowledged that the issue has persisted partly because government services from Odisha had not fully reached the region, while Andhra Pradesh has been more active in extending facilities there.
Highlighting recent measures, Pujari said Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida visited Kotia on Friday to assess eligibility for the Subhadra Yojana, while Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Minister is scheduled to visit soon to address ration card-related issues.
The Minister added that he has personally toured Kotia, documented residents’ grievances, and submitted them to the concerned authorities. As part of the state’s development strategy, plans are also underway to provide higher education opportunities for the region’s youth.
