Odisha Govt Mandates Saffron Colour for All Govt Buildings

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has officially introduced a uniform saffron-themed colour scheme for all government buildings across the state. In a recent directive, the Works Department instructed all State Government departments and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) to adopt the new colour code for both newly constructed structures and those undergoing renovation.
According to the notification, the exterior walls of government buildings will now feature specific RGB shades inspired by light saffron and terracotta. The new policy is aimed at maintaining visual uniformity across all government properties.

“The Government has been pleased for adoption of uniform colour code henceforth for all new Government buildings as well as existing buildings at the time of periodical repair/ renovation works executed by all Departments of State Government and State PSUs,” the official notification stated.
This move is in continuation of the earlier directive issued by the Public Works Department (PWD) for standardising the appearance of government buildings in Odisha.
The colour code will be implemented with immediate effect.
