Odisha Govt hasn’t failed in effectively implementing KALIA Yojana: Agriculture Minister

Surjit Kumar Dhal, Bhubaneswar, July 27: Odisha Agriculture Minister Arun Sahu on Saturday asserted that the various measures taken by the State Government on KALIA scheme is being implemented successfully.

Replying to the Adjournment Motion moved by opposition BJP MLAs alleging that the BJD Government has failed in effecting its flagship KALIA Yojana, Apprising the members of House, the Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment Minister Arun Kumar Sahoo stated that a majority of the selected beneficiaries of KALIA Yojana are having accounts in the State Bank of India (SBI).

Hence, the State Government has chosen this bank for disbursal of the financial assistance to the eligible beneficiaries.

The cooperation of the State Level Bank Committee (SLBC) has also been taken, he said.

“Till date, 51,05,290 beneficiaries have been lent the financial assistance,” the Minister said in the House.

He also stated that several committees have been formed to effectively implement KALIA Yojana.

Listing out the names of the committees, he informed the House that a State Level Committee has been formed headed by the Chief Secretary.

Besides, an Executive Committee has been formed headed by the Principal Secretary of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment Department while the District Level Committee is headed by the Collector concerned and the Block Level Committee is headed by the Block Development Officer (BDO) concerned.

Listing out the data of selection of beneficiaries, the Minister stated that the Department has its DBT list, list prepared by the Cooperation Department of the sharecroppers for paddy procurement, list farmers for Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, list of the State Government employees, list of the Odisha Police personnel, list of the teachers of primary and secondary school schools, higher education and the list of all the retired employees of State Government.

In addition two forms – Red and Green – have been issued. Red Form meant for deletion and omission of ineligible beneficiaries while Green colour application form is for the left-out but eligible beneficiaries.

In a bid to ensure the selection of eligible beneficiaries flawless, the list has been prepared by the specialists of Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC), the Minister further said.
