Odisha Govt Approves 6,229 Healthcare Posts to Boost Medical Services

Bhubaneswar: In a significant step towards strengthening the state’s healthcare infrastructure, the Odisha government has approved the creation of 6,229 new posts, including 5,989 nursing officers and 240 radiographers.
The decision was cleared by Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, with the aim of addressing the shortage of skilled manpower in government hospitals and health institutions across the state. Officials said the move is expected to enhance patient care and ensure timely delivery of medical services.

Nursing officers will play a key role in patient management and bedside care, while the addition of radiographers is set to improve diagnostic services, particularly in district and sub-divisional hospitals where staff shortages have been a concern.
Speaking on the development, the Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to providing accessible and efficient healthcare to the public. He expressed confidence that the new appointments would significantly strengthen the overall healthcare system and improve service delivery.
The Health Department is expected to release detailed recruitment guidelines soon, including information on examinations, training, and postings.
