Odisha Government to Take Action Against 196 Long-Absentee Doctors
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will initiate action against 196 doctors who have been absent from duty for an extended period, Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling informed the State Legislative Assembly on Monday.
Responding to a query from MLA Tankadhar Tripathy, Mahaling revealed that the absentee doctors belong to various cadres, including the Odisha Medical Health Service (OMHS), Odisha Medical Education Service (OMES), and Odisha Homeopathic Medical Service (OHMS).
The minister stated that steps are being taken to proceed with appropriate action against these doctors in accordance with government regulations. The move aims to address prolonged absenteeism and ensure accountability within the state’s healthcare system.
