Odisha Extends Deadline for Gopabandhu Sambadika Swasthya Bima Yojana to September 8

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has once again extended the application deadline for the Gopabandhu Sambadika Swasthya Bima Yojana, a dedicated health insurance scheme for working journalists, till September 8.

This is the second extension granted under the directive of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, following repeated requests from journalists. Earlier, the deadline was extended from August 25 to August 30 before being pushed further.

Under the scheme, journalists and their family members are eligible for cashless medical treatment of up to ₹5 lakh at empaneled hospitals across the state. The initiative aims to safeguard media professionals and their families during medical emergencies by reducing financial stress.

Applications for both new enrollment and renewals are being accepted online through the official portal www.owjws.odisha.gov.in.
