Odisha: Covid Vaccines Safe For Expectant Mother, Says Health and Family Welfare Department’s Director

Bhubaneswar (Reporters Today Bureau): The Covid-19 Vaccines are safe and pose risk to pregnant women soon Odisha, as per the guidelines issued by the Union Health Ministry, Said Bijay Panigrahy, Director, Health and Family Welfare Department of Odisha on Thursday.

“Though the process of registration for pregnant women remains the same like the general population, they will not have to stand in queues for getting inoculated. Special waiting rooms will be set up at the vaccination centers meant for them. ASHA and Anganwadi workers will identify pregnant women in their respective areas and facilitate the process,” said Panigrahy.

He added that women who are pregnant will be kept in observation for half an hour after the vaccination and the impact of the vaccine on them will observe keenly.
