Odisha CM Launches 36 Industrial Projects Worth Rs 40,811 Crore, Over 59,000 Jobs Expected

Bhubaneswar: In a major push to industrialisation in Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 36 industrial projects with a total investment of Rs 40,811 crore, expected to generate over 59,050 employment opportunities.

Spread across multiple districts, the projects cover a wide range of sectors including green energy equipment, metal and downstream industries, textile and apparel, plastics, tourism, agro and food processing, defence manufacturing, IT and ITES, automobiles, cement, and capital goods. The initiative reflects Odisha’s rapidly diversifying industrial ecosystem and growing appeal among investors.

Several prominent companies are part of this expansion drive, including Ampin Solar One Private Limited, Calderys India Refractories Limited, Page Industries Ltd., Adani Enterprises Limited, KPR Mill Limited, Jupiter Tatravagonka Railwheel Factory Private Limited, ATC Tyres AP Pvt. Ltd. (Yokohama), Ambuja Concrete North Private Limited, Trimetro Garments India Pvt. Ltd., and Danieli Corus Refractory Solutions Pvt. Ltd.

Out of the total, 34 projects were inaugurated and grounded at Bhuinpur under Begunia in Khurda district, where the Chief Minister also chaired a high-level roundtable meeting with industry leaders. The discussion focused on strengthening project execution, addressing implementation challenges, and enhancing Odisha’s investor facilitation framework.

The remaining two projects were launched in Ramdaspur Industrial Area in Cuttack district, including the inauguration of a major textile manufacturing unit by Page Industries. The facility, built with an investment of around Rs 750 crore, is expected to create approximately 5,850 jobs.

Additionally, the foundation stone was laid for another unit at Chhatabar in Khurda, involving an investment of Rs 258 crore with the potential to generate around 3,500 employment opportunities.

Addressing the gatherings, the Chief Minister said Odisha’s industrial growth is now driven by execution, supported by a governance framework focused on speed, transparency, and accountability. He highlighted the role of institutions such as IPICOL and district-level agencies in ensuring smooth project implementation.

He also noted that Odisha is fast emerging as a preferred destination for textile and apparel manufacturing, citing the sector’s strong potential for employment generation, especially for women and youth, and its role in promoting inclusive industrial growth.
