Odisha Cabinet approves 12 proposals

Bhubaneswar: Odisha State Cabinet on Saturday approved 12 important proposals. Accordingly, another Integrated Automotive, Aerospace and Defence Equipment-components manufacturing complex by Kalyani Group will come up in Odisha under special provisions of IPR 2022.

Apart from the specialty steel project of Kalyani Steel, the new integrated complex will also include super alloy project of Saarloha Advanced Materials Pvt. Ltd. and Industrial components casting and forging unit of Brarat Forze. The proposed complex to be developed over 1,100 acres at Gajamara in Dhendanal district. It is envisaged as an integrated cluster comprising multiple production units along with dedicated vendor parks to build downstream value chains in titanium, specialty steel, auto components, and aerospace and defence manufacturing.

The project aims to enable Odisha’s transition from being a supplier of raw materials to producer of high-value, technology-intensive and export-oriented products, while strengthening localized and reducing important dependence in strategic sectors.

The integrated complex covering projects by Kalyani Steels Ltd. Saarloha Advanced Materials Pvt. Ltd. and Bharat Forge/subsidiaries is proposed with a total investment of approximately Rs 17, 250 crore.

The project is expected to generate more than 4,800 direct and about 5,500 indirect jobs during construction and operations. However, the total employment is projected to exceed 20,000 in subsequent years as vendor parks and ancillary ecosystems scale up.
