Odisha BJP Begins Poll Preparations, Reviews 2-Year Government Record

The Odisha BJP has started preparations for the 2027 three-tier panchayat and urban local body elections, which are expected after the Census exercise, possibly in late March or early April 2027.
The party began a two-day state executive meeting in Cuttack on Saturday to review the performance of its two-year-old government and strengthen its grassroots presence. The meeting is being held at the Indoor Stadium in Cuttack and is attended by around 400 party functionaries.

Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari said the meeting will discuss a 10-point agenda, covering the political situation, organisational matters, and the implementation of welfare and development schemes of both the Centre and the Odisha government.
The BJP will assess the promises made before the 2024 Assembly elections, those already fulfilled and areas requiring corrective action. The meeting is also expected to pass resolutions highlighting the achievements of the Narendra Modi-led NDA government and the completion of two years of the Odisha government.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Ministers Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, BJP state president Manmohan Samal, national general secretary Sunil Bansal, Odisha in-charge Vijay Pal Singh Tomar and co-in-charge Lata Usendi are attending the meeting.
