Bhubaneswar: Odisha Bandh Today: Mixed impact witnessed across the State. The Navnirman Krushak Sangathan’s (NKS) bandh call has had a varied impact across Odisha today. While trains are reportedly running normally, passengers are facing significant disruptions in road transport, with many waiting for hours at bus stands.

In Brahmagiri, vessel traffic in Chilika’s Satpada has been stopped, with boats only ferrying students appearing for the Pathani Samanta exam. Passengers are stranded on the Chilika shore, adding to the inconvenience.

Kandhamal has witnessed a minor effect, with motor vehicle plying stopped, but petrol pumps and other shops slowly opening. Phulbani remains unaffected so far, with no party picketing for the bandh.

The bandh, called to protest alleged paddy procurement mismanagement, has received support from the Congress, while the BJP has dismissed it as a “fake farmers’ movement”. Essential services like hospitals, ambulances, and pharmacies are exempt from the bandh.
