Odisha Bags National Award for Sustainable Urban Mobility Initiatives

Bhubaneswar: Odisha has earned national recognition for its innovative efforts in promoting sustainable urban transport. The Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT), Bhubaneswar, received the “Special Mention Award in Urban Transport” for its flagship initiatives — Ama Bus and Ama E-Ride — under the category “Running Trophy for the State/UT that has Implemented the Best Urban Transport Projects.”

The award was presented by the Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs during the Valedictory Session of the Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference 2025, held in Gurugram on Saturday. It was received by Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary of the Housing & Urban Development Department, along with senior CRUT officials.

This prestigious recognition underscores Odisha’s leadership in people-centric, green mobility solutions, and reflects the State’s commitment to developing modern, inclusive, and sustainable urban transport systems that integrate innovation with environmental responsibility.
