Odisha Assembly Winter Session Begins Today

Bhubaneswar: The Winter Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly is set to commence today, with the state government preparing to table the supplementary budget for the financial year 2025-26. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is expected to present the budget, estimated to be around ₹10,000 crore, during the afternoon session.
The House will also take up question hours for several key departments, including School and Mass Education, Higher Education, Scheduled Castes and Tribes, Sports and Youth Affairs, Information Technology, Odia Language, Literature and Culture, and Social Security. MLAs will be able to raise both listed and unlisted questions during the proceedings.

During the zero hour, members of both the ruling and opposition parties are anticipated to highlight significant public issues. The Congress is likely to move an adjournment motion, which is expected to add intensity to the debate and make the session more engaging.
The winter session is expected to witness active participation from all political parties as discussions unfold on key matters affecting the state.
