Nuapada Woman Delivers Quadruplet Girls, All Stable

Bhubaneswar: In a rare medical occurrence, a woman from Chaukapada village under Komna block in Odisha’s Nuapada district has given birth to quadruplets. The mother and all four newborns are reported to be in stable condition.
According to sources, Bhojaraj Majhi of Chaukapada had married Puspa, a native of Mahasamund district in neighbouring Chhattisgarh, two years ago. This was Puspa’s first pregnancy.
She was staying at her parental home in Mahasamund when she went into labour on Sunday. Family members rushed her to the district hospital in Mahasamund, where doctors admitted her to the maternity ward. Due to complications, an emergency Caesarean section was performed, resulting in the birth of four baby girls.
Medical officials said both the mother and the newborns are currently stable. However, the babies are being shifted to a hospital in Raipur for specialised care and further monitoring.
