Nuapada Bypoll Sees 75.37% Voter Turnout; Counting on November 14

Bhubaneswar: The Nuapada Assembly bye-election concluded peacefully on Tuesday, recording a voter turnout of around 75.37% by 5 PM, according to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Odisha.

Polling officials confirmed that all eight helicopters carrying election personnel have safely returned, marking the successful completion of voting in 165 polling stations across the constituency.

Except for a minor technical glitch, polling remained smooth throughout the day. An EVM set (1 Ballot Unit, 1 Control Unit, and 1 VVPAT) was replaced at Booth No. 246 after a malfunction was reported. Authorities said the issue was promptly resolved without affecting the voting process.

The CEO’s office stated that strict security measures and monitoring mechanisms were in place to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful election.

The counting of votes will take place on November 14, and the results are expected to be declared the same day.
