NTA Announces Re-Examination for Three UGC-NET Subjects

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a re-examination for three subjects—English, Commerce, and Sociology—under the UGC-NET examination. The decision was taken after candidates reported several errors in the question papers for these subjects.

The English examination will be conducted on September 9 from 9 AM to 12 PM in the first shift, while the Commerce examination will be held on the same day from 3 PM to 6 PM in the second shift. The Sociology examination will take place on September 10 from 9 AM to 12 PM in the first shift.

The UGC-NET examination was conducted from June 22 to 30 for 87 subjects. The exam is held to determine eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor positions, and admission to PhD programmes.

Following complaints regarding errors in the question papers, the NTA constituted a committee to examine the issue. The committee recommended conducting fresh examinations for the three subjects to ensure a fair and error-free assessment.
