North and South Odisha Development Councils to be formed soon

Bhubaneswar: North and South Odisha Development Councils will be formed soon for the overall development of the tribal areas of the State, informed Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi while meeting a delegation of Odisha Adivasi Mahasangh.

The Chief Minister informed about the development during his meeting with the members of the Odisha Adivasi Mahasangh at the Lok Seva Bhawan today.

A delegation of the Odisha Adivasi Mahasangh from 11 districts of the State called on the CM and discussed about their problems apart from giving some proposals for their collective development.

Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes Development Minister Nityananda Gond, Nabarangpur MLA Gauri Shankar Majhi, Adivasi Mahasangh President Karma Lakra, General Secretary Sarat Chandra Nayak were among others who were present during the meeting.

While interacting with them, Majhi said, “Our government gives top priority for the welfare of the tribal community across the state. Many steps have been taken for the development of their education and livelihood.”

“The State government will soon form the North and South Odisha Development Councils for the overall development of the tribal areas,” he announced.
