Night Temperatures Set to Drop Across Odisha, IMD Predicts Cooler Nights Ahead

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to experience a noticeable dip in night temperatures over the next 48 hours, according to the midday weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.
The IMD has predicted a fall of 2°C to 4°C in minimum temperatures across several parts of the state, marking the onset of cooler, winter-like nights.

A significant drop in temperatures has already been recorded in many regions. This morning’s data showed a fall of 4°C to 6°C in several northern districts and around 2°C to 4°C in other parts of Odisha, with the minimum temperature settling 3°C to 4°C below normal in some areas.
Among the key readings, Phulbani recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 12.5°C, while Paralakhemundi registered the highest maximum temperature at 34.6°C. Dense fog was reported in isolated parts of Koraput, while Sundargarh witnessed shallow fog early in the morning.
The IMD has also forecast dry weather across the state for the next seven days, with no significant weather warnings in place. The trend is expected to continue over the following three days as well.
For Bhubaneswar, the forecast suggests mist or fog during the morning hours followed by a mainly clear sky later in the day. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 32°C and 17°C respectively.
The IMD has urged citizens to stay updated using its official mobile applications—‘Mausam’ for city forecasts, ‘Meghdoot’ for agro-advisories, and ‘Damini’ for lightning alerts—to receive the most accurate and timely weather information.
