Newspaper Hawker Charred to Death in House Fire in Keonjhar

Bhubaneswar: A local newspaper hawker was charred to death after a fire broke out at his house in Odisha’s Keonjhar district late on Thursday night.
The deceased has been identified as Debendra Mishra, a resident of the area.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire erupted at Mishra’s residence when he was alone at home. By the time the blaze was noticed, it had already spread rapidly and engulfed the house.
Local residents immediately alerted the fire brigade, following which police and fire department personnel rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation.
However, Mishra could not be saved due to the intensity of the fire. Firefighters later managed to bring the flames under control after sustained efforts.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Police have initiated an investigation to determine the origin of the blaze and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
