New CMC Commissioner takes tough stance

Cuttack: New Commissioner of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Kirandeep Kaur Sahota has taken a tough stance and issued show-cause notice to 30 employees of the city civic body.

The CMC Commissioner has issued the show-cause notice to the 30 employees who reached the office late. In the show-cause notice, the CMC employees have been directed to explain within 24 hours why their salary will not be deducted.

It is to be noted here that Sahota, a 2021 batch IAS officer took charge as Commissioner of the Cuttack Municipal Corporation on July 23. Earlier, she was posted as the Sub-Collector of Gunupur in Rayagada district.

Meanwhile, the tough stance of the CMC Commissioner (issuance of show-cause notice to the late comers) has surprised the employees of the Municipal Corporation and is considered to be a warning for the erring officials and employees to reach the office on time.
