Neeraj Chopra Pulls Out of Asian Games

Ankle Injury Ends His 2026 Season Early
India’s star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has withdrawn from the remaining events of the 2026 season due to an ankle injury. He will miss the Asian Games and Diamond League Final, dealing a major blow to India’s medal hopes.

Chopra confirmed the decision on social media, saying he suffered a ligament tear in his ankle during training. After consulting his doctors and team, he decided to end his season and focus on recovery.
12 Diamond League Points

Chopra earned 12 points from two Diamond League events this season. At Lausanne, he produced his season-best throw of 88.05 metres and finished second, just nine centimetres short of the top spot.
