Navratri Day 4: Maa Kushmanda Worshipped in Royal Blue on October 14
Royal Blue Symbolises Confidence, Tranquillity and Strength

The fourth day of Sharadiya Navratri, observed on October 14, is dedicated to Maa Kushmanda, the fourth manifestation of Goddess Durga. Royal blue is the colour associated with the day in the 2026 Navratri colour calendar, symbolising confidence, tranquillity, strength and elegance.
Maa Kushmanda is revered as the goddess of creation, light and cosmic energy. According to Hindu beliefs, devotees worship her to seek blessings for prosperity, good health, positivity and well-being.
Often depicted with eight arms, Maa Kushmanda is also known as Ashtabhuja Devi. She rides a lion, symbolising courage and strength, while her association with the Sun represents the energy that sustains life.
On the fourth day, devotees perform special pujas, chant devotional mantras and offer flowers, fruits and traditional bhog according to family customs. Many wear royal blue attire to mark the occasion and participate in festive gatherings.
While the day’s colour tradition adds vibrancy to Navratri celebrations, prayers and devotion remain at the heart of the festival.
