Nabarangpur Dacoity Case: Two More Arrested, Rs 3 Lakh Seized
Police arrested two more accused in connection with the February 22 dacoity at Kochaniamba village under Umerkote police limits.
The robbery involved Rs 70 lakh in cash and gold ornaments, making it one of the most sensational incidents in the region.
Earlier, police had arrested seven inter-district accused and recovered over Rs 21 lakh along with gold and silver ornaments, a car, and a scooter used in the crime. Continuing the investigation, police tracked down two more suspects and seized Rs 3 lakh, Rs 2,000 in cash, and a mobile phone from their possession.
The dacoity created widespread panic in Umerkote after armed miscreants tied up the victims and looted valuables. Police launched a thorough investigation and followed leads that eventually led to the arrests.
Additional SP of Nabarangpur, Aditya Kumar Sen, confirmed the arrests and said police remain committed to recovering the remaining stolen property and bringing all culprits to justice.
