Mutilated Body of Man Found on Railway Tracks Near Lingaraj Temple Road Station in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The mutilated body of a man was found on the railway tracks near Lingaraj Temple Road railway station in Bhubaneswar early Tuesday morning, triggering panic in the area.

The deceased has been identified as Papu Behera, a resident of the Botanda area in the city.

According to family members, Papu had gone out on Monday evening but did not return home. When repeated calls to his mobile phone went unanswered, relatives and friends began searching for him. During the search, they found his car parked near Lingaraj Temple Road railway station.

Suspecting something amiss, they scanned the surrounding area and discovered a body lying on the railway tracks. The matter was immediately reported to the Government Railway Police (GRP).

Police personnel reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.

Family members have alleged foul play, claiming that Papu was involved in real estate activities, assisting clients in buying, selling and renting properties. They suspect that his professional dealings may have led to the incident.

The Lingaraj police, in coordination with the GRP, have launched a detailed investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the death.
