Music director and singer Abhijit Majumdar hospitalised

Cuttack: Odisha’s renowned music director and singer Abhijit Majumdar is reportedly unwell and has been admitted for treatment at a hospital in Cuttack City.

As informed by sources, Majumdar was suffering from liver ailment for the last several days and was under medication. However, he was rushed to a private hospital in Cuttack after his condition deteriorated on Ganesh Puja i.e on August 27.

Today, he was shifted to yet another private hospital in Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) area as his health condition worsened further. A special team of doctors are reportedly providing treatment to Abhijit Majumdar, who has been kept in the emergency ward of the hospital.

Though his family members have not shared any information about Majumdar’s health condition with the media persons, they are in the hospital with him and making all possible effort for his better treatment, added the sources.

Meanwhile, people associated with the music in Odia and Sambalpuri industries expressed their deep concern and prayed for Abhijit Majumdar’s speedy recovery. Even his uncountable fans and followers wished him to get well at the earlier possible time and get back to his work and entertain them as the festive season has already started.

Abhijit Majumdar, who began his career from Sambalpuri industry, has reportedly composed more than 700 songs for Odia and Sambalpuri movies and album industries. Several of his songs in Ollywood films like Love Story, Sister Sridevi, Golmaal Love, Mr. Majnu, Sundergarh Ra Salman Khan, Sriman Surdas were very hit and were widely accepted by the music lovers. His songs are such popular that people play them on every occasion they celebrate. Be it pujas, idol immersions, festivals, marriages, picnics and the like, Majumdar’s songs are must to be used.
