Multi-agency control room closes, BMC grievance cell to take over

Surjit Kumar Dhal,Bhubaneswar, May 15: The Multi-Agency Control Room will remain closed from tonight after 10 pm following an order from the Commissioner, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
In a letter the Commissioner has also requested the line departments and agencies to open their own grievance cells for the continuation of the redressal of the complaints and they will also send the names of their nodal officers to the Grievance Cell, BMC.
With the closure of the Multi-Agency Control Room, the Grievance Cell of BMC will function as usual and start from tomorrow at 6 am with the designated staff. While Sashmita Sahoo (Deputy Commissioner Emergency) will work as the nodal officer, the cell will function adjacent to the entrance to the BMC office with the landline number 0674-2431253.
Meanwhile, as per sources, the vehicles of Urban Mobile Health Unit are being deputed for periodic check-up of diarrhoea cases and for checking if any new case comes out in Ward No. 64 area of the city. Oral rehydration salt (ORS) and anti-diarrhoea medicines have been provided in sufficient quantity.
As per instruction given by the Health Department, use of open water sources/wells has been suspended and water supplied by Public Health Engineering Organisation (PHEO) has provided drinking water.
