Mother, Three-Year-Old Daughter Killed in Firecracker Explosion in Cuttack

Bhubaneswar: A devastating firecracker explosion at Mahajanpur village under Jagatpur police station limits claimed the lives of a three-year-old girl and her mother, who succumbed to critical burn injuries while undergoing treatment.

The incident occurred on Thursday evening when firecrackers stored inside a residence suddenly exploded, leaving two women and the child severely injured. All three were immediately rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for treatment.

Despite medical efforts, the mother and her daughter died due to extensive burn injuries. The third injured person is currently undergoing treatment and is reported to be in critical condition.

Police have launched an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the explosion. The incident has left the local community in shock, while doctors continue to closely monitor the condition of the injured individual.
