Mother, son critical following acid attack in Kendrapara

Pattamundai: In a shocking incident, a mother and her son turned critical following acid attack in Kendrapara district of Odisha yesterday night. The incident took place in the Bacchara village under Pattamundai Block of the district.

The accused has been identified as Bijay Sahu while the victim mother son have been identified as Rabindra Sahu and his mother.

As per information received, there was past enmity between Rabindra Sahu and Bijay Sahu. Yesterday night after the dispute escalated, Bijay Sahu reached Rabindra Sahu’s house with acid.

Wearing gloves, he threw acid on Rabindra and his mother. Accordingly the mother-son became critical.

The neighbours rescued them and first shifted to Pattamundai hospital. However as their health condition deteriorated, they were then shifted to SCB Medical College and hospital in Cuttack in a critical condition. In this regard, Rabindra’s wife has filed a complaint at Pattamundai police station.

Police have detained Bijay Sahu. Three bottles of acid have been seized from the scene. However, there is a lot of discussion among the public about where the acid came from.
