Miscreants attack cops, injure four

Surjit kumar Dhal, Bhubaneswar, March 4: Police today were scanning the close circuit TV cameras to nab more persons involved in attacking police personnel, including the Inspector in-charge of Saheed Nagar police station here late Sunday night.

      According to sources, six persons have been detained in this connection.As many as 15-20 miscreants late Sunday night attacked and injured four police personnel, including the Inspector In-Charge (IIC) and Assistant Sub-inspector (ASI) of Saheed Nagar police station (PS) in their bid to attack few persons involved in a road accident case.The sources said, the miscreants had gone to the PS to attack some persons who were detained by the cops in the road accident case and attacked the police men when they resisted.The policemen sustained multiples injuries, including on head, after stone-pelting and thrashing by the miscreants. The miscreants also ransacked the police station damaging flowerpots, furniture and TV set..
